Geisinger is a pioneer in technologies and techniques ranging from fully integrated electronic health records and care delivered by multidisciplinary teams, to bioinformatics and a unique genomics program. GCSOM's MBS curriculum --both in the traditional classroom and online -- embraces these advances while meshing them with the age-old philosophy of the life sciences: caring and concern for community. The GCSOMcurriculum encourages students to take a person-centered approach to problem-solving, and inspireslearners to meet change with confidence.

In addition to the online environment, the GCSOM MBS will continue to be offered in two distinct locations, Scranton and Doylestown. The curriculum at both campuses is identical, but the pace differs. Like the Scranton program, the online degree is earned in 9 to 12 months. In Doylestown, the program is completed in 15 months.

Highlights of the online MBS program include:

  • Personalized advising.
  • An intensive biomedical curriculum that closely models the first year of medical school.
  • Elective courses that encourage students to devise their path to success.
  • Professional identify formation course that helps craft personal statement and curriculum vitae (CV), gain interviewing skills and provide insight from a variety of health professionals regarding career options.
  • Required Princeton Review MCAT Prep Course, or participants may choose to study for the DAT or GRE.
  • Based on meeting established criteria, online MBS students and graduates of the program will be guaranteed an interview for the GCSOM MD program.

Applications are now being accepted. To apply or to learn more, call 570-504-9068 or visit geisinger.edu/MBS
